Our application process is designed to be rigorous as well as to offer a sense of what it's like to work at Opower. Every resume we receive is reviewed carefully by our Talent Acquisition team, and then some applicants are invited to participate in a telephone interview with one of our recruiters. If your experience and interests seem right for Opower and the role, you will then be asked to complete a homework assessment and/or have a telephone interview with the hiring manager from the team to which you've applied. The final step is a series of on-site interviews: in individual meetings between 4 and 10 Opower employees, you'll be asked questions about your experience, your perspective, and your potential fit within the team. This is also your opportunity to get answers to any questions you may have about the role. If you're coming to meet with us in person from far away, we'll cover your travel costs.
We expect you to understand a bit about what Opower does before talking to us. Ways to prepare are reviewing this website, reading our blogs, looking up recent press coverage, and/or gathering information relevant to the team and the position for which you're applying.
Opower is a great place to work, and getting a job here is extremely competitive—we're sent hundreds of resumes each week. Homework helps us assess your creativity, experience, and talent.
We're a casual environment; please wear whatever you would feel comfortable wearing to work.
If your application is declined, it simply means that we felt you weren't a good fit for that specific position. We always encourage candidates to apply for other positions in which they are interested.
All candidates who are given offers undergo a standard employment and background check. Our hiring managers also conduct reference checks. If you require sponsorship to work in the US or UK, you'll need to work with our Human Resources team to complete the visa and/or work permitting processes.
